This kinda boggles my mine.. Most of us know by advertisements or our mothers that when we have our babys, we should be using a sensitive baby detergent. What bothers me is there is some disconnect here. We know we shouldnt be using our regular laundry soap, but how much better is a sensitive formula directed at babys?? I think none! Instead we should purchase a chemical free, non toxic, laundry soap. There are actually alot of great alternatives out there. I have used a few of them, Right now I use a brand by Eco's I like this one because my husband finds that he likes a scent, as most of the natural soaps are unscented. It is made with 100% natural coconut kernel oil-based surfactant, horsetail plant, lavender, coconut based fabric softener, essential oils of magnolias and lilies, with purified water. I have also used Seventh Generation, as well as Natures Choice, I really think Natures Choice. But just remember to read labels, the more you do this the easier it gets. If you cant read the word, dont buy it, go home and research it, if all the other ingredients are natural. There are also Soap Nuts, they are actually berries, they will make your clothing nice and soft. I also never use "bounce" in the dryer, this stuff is soo so toxic.
You can add a cup of baking soda to the wash this will help clean, remove smells, and soften.
Or add a cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle, helps with smell, cleaning, softens, and cling
And for the bounce replacement add a few drops of essential oils to a wet facecloth and throw it in the dryer with the wet clothes.
